More Vegan Eats & Women Are Wonderful Event

Have YOU seen these YET?  Clif came out with new (loose) Granola!  I was able to find this Cinnamon Almond flavor and I must say it was GREAT!  Actually, it was a gift from my parents!  They are VERY thoughtful!  When I eat Granola I eat it loose and dry and usually as a snack!  Because I ate many handfuls of this it was more like a meal!

Eventho this photo isn't the best I wanted to post it because it was a meal I had recently.  It was one of the Tasty Bites Microwavable Pouches...the Spinach Dal...actually, and a side of Garlic Parsley Riced Cauliflower.  I ended up mixing it together.  It was YUMMY!

My 40th birthday is in about a month.  I wanted to do 40 Good Deeds leading up to my Birthdate but I haven't been consistent with doing one each day.  One of the things I'm doing is donating tea to our local Cancer Center for those waiting for treatment (and their families).

Another thing I have done recently is volunteer at our local Women Are Wonderful Event that took place this past weekend.  It was a FUN day.  There were about 100-110 participants about roughly 30-50 volunteers.

Participants could take up to 5 classes/sessions of various topics and there was a breakfast bar and lunch served.  This photo is one of the last classes of the day and it was a card making class.  As a part of the Zonta Club efforts, we had many volunteers there.  We also chose the winners of our Basket Raffle Fund Raiser which the money raised goes to our Service Projects.  That day we also took a collection for our "Free The Girls" Project.  The participants donated 66 bras and $56 to help with shipping our next batch of bras to "Free The Girls".

The other night I was roaming around the house - doing a few things - and I caught Cricket on the recliner like this.  Apparently, she didn't want to sit ON the recliner's seat but wanted to wedge herself in the elbow part of the armrest.

I almost forgot to post this photo.  Still not a great photo but it was a good meal.  I made some more Baked Tofu Nuggets.  This time I threw a bunch of spices in with Bob's Red Mill's All Purpose Flour and some Arrowroot.  I probably left them in a bit longer than needed but the texture was nice.  Crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside!

Granola Mix, Ethiopian Potatoes, Radish Sprouts, and Such!

I don't usually add 'milk' to my Granola.  I like to eat it dry.  But I have a bunch of Coconut Milk I have to use and thought I would try it yesterday.  I have also been buying and mixing Granola like it's 'The End Times' so I decided to mix one of the Peanut Butter Granola's in with a Dark Chocolate Granola AND add a bit of Grape Nuts into the mix and here is what I came up with!  It was quite nice.  Super filling and CRAZY nutritious!
Ethiopian Potato Salad.  Yup!  I've started to make-good on my personal goals and make foods from other parts of the world.  This is my first attempt!  Here's what it has - super easy - full of flavor!

1 pound of potatoes (cooked)
2 T Basil Pesto Grapeseed Oil
Wildtree Onion & Chive Blend to taste (I used maybe 3 T)
1-2 T Lemon Juice
Parsley to your liking
Jalapeno (Optional)
Last night I really didn't know what to have for dinner and I needed to use some sprouts as well as one of my Avocados!  So I did an Avocado Mash on top of an "everything" bagel.  It's hard to see here but I added a few shakes of Wildtree Chipotle Hot Sauce inbetween that layer and the sprouts.  For the Sprouts I used Radish Sprouts!  I was very pleased with this portion of my meal - it was super awesome!
Yup!  I got home any my Radish Sprouts were ready!  Check these babies out!  Aren't they crazy-sexy-cool?

I decided to put my iPhone Macro to the test and I was glad I did.

I ended up finding a place online to order sprouts that accepts PayPal and placed a small order this morning.  I think I will save that post for when they come in!
Here's another look at my newly sprouted Radish Sprouts.

A few nutritional Benefits include: It is also a good source of Vitamin A, Thiamin, Riboflavin, Pantothenic Acid, Calcium, Iron and Copper, and a very good source of Vitamin C, Niacin, Vitamin B6, Folate, Magnesium, Phosphorus and Manganese.

Well, that's all for now but I have some more adventures on deck so stop back soon and have a GREAT DAY!

Smiles, Savings, & Sprouts!

This was my husband's fortune in his fortune cookie the other day!  It cracked us up!  Immediately we thought of Mike Meyers' LOVE GURU.
If you read my post from yesterday you will see I went shopping!  Sure I spent some - but I also saved!  I found these babies at our local Big Lots!  I love finding random goodies there!
Like I said I started sprouting again and here is a pic of the Lentils I am sprouting!  More coming soon on these and what I will do with them!
And if you have been to my blog before you know I have been posting a lot about my cats and dogs!  Well, here are some more pics of my pups!  The top two are Suzie and Riley.  They are BUDS!!!
And here is Senor Paco!  This was taken Sunday Night...he totally did this himself.  He sure knows how to bundle up!
Okay...more produce!  These are from Sam's Club.  I bought 3 pounds for $2.99!  OMG!  I LOVE these Zima Tomatoes!
I bought 3 different kinds of Granola at Big Lots the other day!  This was one of them!  All 3 I bought were free of animal products - thus being - VEGAN!

Like I said...I have LOTS to post!  So stay tuned!  These are just a few of the many things that have made me smile lately, the sprouting I have been up to, and the savings I have found!

How about you?

Salty Chocolate Snackle Mouth

Recently I purchased this Bad Boy thru the VeganEssentials Website just for kicks.  I tried it and can honestly say I am hooked!

DAMN YOU Snackle Mouth!

The Product Description on their sites says...
Sweet and Salty….we get it and we likey!  Breakfast, lunch, dinner, late night, snack time – seriously, any time is the right time to eat Chocolate.  So, we baked in loads of yum and sprinkled just the right amount of sea salt for a little zippy-do.

MY Product Description...
Sure the box is super cool to look at but it gets even better once you open it!  You can see the awesomeness of the natural ingredients - HUGE - FULL - Hearty - Ingredients!  Clusters to the fullest extent!  I think that is one of my favorite things about this!  Clusters!  I LOVE it when my granola has clusters!  I'm not much of a salt person, usually.  But Snackle Mouth does it right!  They add just enough to be true to it's name!  Same with the chocolate!  It's not like it's totally covered in Chocolate but there is just enough to satisfy!  It's really wonderful!  BEST PART?  No Dairy!  Woot!  It's Vegan!

What's in it?  Here it is...straight from the company's website:
CHOCOLATE
The mood boosting, heart healthy, inflammation quelling chocolate that we use is simply craveable. It melts in your mouth as well as in your hands, so be sure to enjoy the whole package, whether by yourself or sharing with friends.

It also has a lower glycemic index than regular sugar, making it ideal for diabetics or anyone looking for a healthier alternative. Brown rice syrup is similar in appearance, texture, and flavor to honey.
