Before I get into posts from last week I wanted to do a quick post about Encaustic Art. It's something I have been fascinated by for YEARS. In a nutshell it's art and/or paintings using wax as the base/medium. I'm not sure I want to actually use wax if I do get into attempting this form of art. For kicks I quickly found out there are vegan alternatives! Plant Based Waxes. I just LOVE the colors in Encaustic Art that is what really draws me in. I may pursue this down the road. Just HAD to share in the meantime.

Those are amazing. I will share this with my daughter. I definitely have the wax, thanks to our honeybees.
ReplyDeleteOh yes! How are the honeybees doing??? I was just telling a friend about your adventures the other day!
DeleteWow - the samples you posted are stunning! I look forward to seeing what you create : )
ReplyDeleteI just took a screen shot of some from google images - one of these days I hope to try it :)
DeleteBeautiful! Looking forward to seeing yours.
ReplyDeleteWell I don't have any supplies for it (YET) but maybe I will try it down the road - I sure am tempted!
DeleteAgreed, the vibrant colors are beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThat's what HOOKED me :)
DeleteI was told you could only use animal hair brushes for encaustic because the synthetic ones melt. What do you do?
