Sprouts & Rice with Spice!
YUP!
That's what I am naming this dish! I made a LARGE batch last night and will eat it for a few days in some way, shape, or form. What I had for dinner last night turned out super tasty! This is a dish I would do again and again!
And that may just be the case since our Containers are sprouting with Brussel Sprouts - oh my goodness!
Here's what's in this dish in case you were curious or wanted to try!
2 C Rice
2 T Coconut Oil
1/4 C Pine Nuts
1 Pound of Brussel Sprouts
1 T Bragg's Liquid Aminos
1/2 T Agave Nectar
1 tea EACH of Parsley, Basil, Oregano, Garlic Powder, Onion Powder
1/2 tea EACH of Lemon Juice, Red Pepper Flakes
Sriracha to taste - added at the end - like a garnish
Here's a Google Doc of our progress on the Contain Garden/Rooftop Garden. Sam - a co-worker of mine - is pretty much taking care of the updates on this file. I believe you can click on it and enlarge the photo to see a bit more of what's going on. I'm also trying to post some updates on Folia - which you will find on my sidebar. We will be thinning and transplanting the Rosalita and Grand Rapids soon. We are also hoping to start our 2nd flight of a few 'from seed' attempts.
A few weeks ago Opal posted on of Dan McDonald's Archived Videos on Facebook and tagged me in comments. We got to talking about the female guest he had in that video. She was a 'peppy little thing' - a blonde - with pigtails. Come to find out she was in her mid 50s at the time of the video but with her lifestyle, outlook on life, and pigtails she appeared MUCH younger...I'd say maybe late 20's or so. I used to wear pigtails every once and a while...when I was younger...and even when I was in college. It's been a while. Last night I was feeling a little crazy and thought I would try them. yes! I'm goofy! But at least I'm having FUN again! It's so nice when you surround yourself with more carefree people and everyone gets along, ya know!?

Sprouts & Spice with Rice... say that ten times!
ReplyDeleteHey, I like your pigtail photo, it makes you look even younger. Yep, Theresa was in phenomenal shape in that video, 54. She still looks great. I think she's 57 now...
Thanks!
DeleteI haven't really done much more research on her but should. Does she have a website or Youtube Channel?
I love the look of this and it must have loads of flavour. I used to wear pigtails like that to school. It's been a while! xx
ReplyDeleteIt did have a few different layers of flavor! I really enjoyed it :) I just might have to do pigtails every once and a while again! They are FUN :)
DeleteThe rice dish sounds wonderful, simple and flavorful. You can totally rock pigtails. Mine would be a fuzzy mess in our rainy weather. Lol!
ReplyDeleteThanks! And THANKS :) Nah!!!! Try 'em! They're FUN!
DeleteMid-50's? My! My! She looks so so young! Rice looks good.
ReplyDeleteWell, I'm not in my mid-50s but the girl in the video was that Opal posted on FB a while back :)
DeleteHi Jennifer,
ReplyDeleteYou look great in pigtails! I am a big fan of brussel sprouts, rice and siriracha sauce so any dish which includes those items ends up in my stomach--in fact today I made a big hot pot soup with brown rice, brussel sprouts, seaweed, kale, broccoli, mushrooms and red onions with a turmeric, apple cider vinegar and Braggs Aminos broth. I added hot pepper flakes and cayenne pepper too. I am so glad your gardening efforts are progressing! I am so glad you shared your latest with us at the Plant-Based Potluck Party Blog Hop! I appreciate it!
Awww thanks! Your dish sounds wonderful, too! I will be doing more with Brussel Sprouts down the road because I think we will have between 17 and 37 full plants/trees maturing :)
DeleteMmmm I LOVE brussels sprouts. So good! And rice.
ReplyDeleteYou look just adorable with your pigtails =)
Thanks so much! I really would like to do a similar dish like this one soon! Might have to rock the pigtails more often :) lol
