Today I am grateful for space heaters! Yes...it's still SUPER cold here! I'm so over winter! I can't wait for Spring and Summer. Then again...I guess I will be doubly grateful for them when they arrive, eh!? I'm also thankful for my co-workers! Things have been going real well at work this past month! And a random 3rd thing I'm thankful for is music that makes me smile!
Of course - I'm always thankful for my 'furkids' and they have been extra snugly this winter because of the cold as well as them enjoying each others company more and more. I still think that we are all still trying to adjust to Gabby not being around. I think about her daily. I still think about Sammy and he's been gone 6 years or so. They sure do leave paw prints on our hearts, huh? Here's a photo of Riley and Suzie sitting by each other on the loveseat. They can be so goofy! I'm so thankful they are buddies, tho! Paco's been real good lately, too! Charlie has a sore on his tail and I will be taking him to the vet at some point which will be very hard as he's a feral cat and I'm not quite sure how they are going to exam him. More on that later.
Last night I snacked on this smoothie. I made it in my Vitamix. It turned out pretty good! Here's what I put in it...
1 C Soy Milk
1 Scoop GoL's Cacao Chocolate Raw Meal Powder
2 chunks of Banana
1 T Cinnamon Flavored Agave Syrup from Wholesome Sweeteners
Questions of the day - How are your 'furkids' doing? What are your grateful for? And what did you snack on recently?
Bet that smoothie tasted great, chilled. You have bananas already, not sweet enough. I noticed you added sweeteners. The bananas here are very sweet, some varieties, at least.
ReplyDeleteI'm not a fan of bananas, actually, but trying...I only added about TWO inch chunks to mine. I added the Cinnamon Flavored Agave mostly because I wanted the Cinnamon flavor - I probably could have added regular cinnamon but just wanted to see what it tasted like I guess! LOL
DeleteSmoothies are great, I'll be mainly consuming juice during lent with the occasional smoothie and raw food meal tossed in there also. I guess I'm thankful for everything within my life. I know it could be a lot worse so I appreciate all that has been given to me. My motto... life is too short to complain, I'll make the most of whatever is given to me. I'm currently sipping on an apple, carrot, celery and cucumber juice. My goodness is is good even if I forgot to add the spice (hot pepper or ginger.)
ReplyDeleteI find that drinking only freshly juiced produce for a few days or longer takes me to another level spiritually/mentally so it's something I tap into constantly since I like that awakened state.
I need to get some greens to star doing lemon ginger blasts again!
DeleteIt's been fun finding things on FB for each other :) Neat! Thanks!
I love reading your juicing posts. I'm trying to do more raw foods again, too!
Bananas are awesome in smoothies, especially if you let them get really ripe and sweet, then freeze them - they add such a smooth texture and sweetness.
ReplyDeleteUgh, sorry on winter, such a crazy weather year. We're in the 70s here already, can't complain about that!
It seems frozen and in smoothies in small quantities are the only way I can eat them. LOL
DeleteI'm jealous of your weather and produce choices out there! I really am! I must live vicariously thru your blog :)
Cute post! Space heaters are definitely a good thing to have in the winter. And you guys are getting a brutal one :/
ReplyDeleteI imagine it's always tough to lose a furkid, but hopefully it's a little easier as time goes on.
I am grateful for my furbaby Sunny. We've only had her 3 short months, but I am crazy in love with her. She makes me laugh and just so happy =)
Sunny is so sweet! Can't wait to see more posts about your little darling! Thanks for the kind words of comfort!
