Nourished & Nor'Easters

Just a quick post today.

This book was another book I recently grabbed lately.  I was thinking it was a vegan cookbook but it really isn't a cookbook, per say.

It IS, however, an amazing resource and wealth of knowledge that I will be referring to often.  The photography is lovely and the info STELLAR!  I hope to dip more into it on Sunday.

Tomorrow I will be volunteering at a Fundraiser for the local Zontas International that I hope to join over the next couple of months.

Last night we were hit with the latest Nor'Easter.  I couldn't help but post this meme.  It made me chuckle for a few reasons.  The Beavis & Butthead reference is something that DH, his brother, and mother often joke about.  As stupid as the show was - the silly comedy got them thru some challenging times.

This was a photo from the front of my house this morning as I tried to shovel my Fiat out of the driveway.  The photo doesn't do it much justice but the snow we received was heavier than usual and I'm sure we will have a lot of trees down because of it.

In some places, there was about a foot of snow dropping in a few hours.  It was 70 degrees just a few days ago and even this coming weekend we are supposed to see 40's and low 50s in temperatures.

I'm really hoping all of this doesn't freeze more than it already has.  Most of it's a heavy slush at the moment.

Yesterday I was doing some social media for work and noticed this...3 Movies Turning 30!  The movies Big, Willow, and Land Before Time - all turn 30 in early 2018!

Which of these 3 1988 movies was your favorite?

Another Question of the Day...did you get hit with the Nor'Easter?  If so - how much snow and/or flooding or winds did you see!?

  1. Oh no I'm so sorry about the storm. I don't miss those days at all. That poor tree looks like it wants to give up!!
I spring comes very soon for you!!

    1. I'll have to remember to take pics of those 2 trees in bloom! They are cool! The one is a Japanese Maple and the other is some species of Honeysuckle.

  2. Oh no! Stay warm!! I can't even imagine snow at this time of the year! We're in the high 50s to low 70s already. It's basically spring here! On the movies, back then, I would have said BIG for sure. But now I'd say Willow!

    1. 'Sometimes the snow comes 'round in June...' - wait...that's a song, right!? LOL - it could be true here, tho, you never know! hahahaha

  3. Oh dear, it's been years since I thought about Beavis & Butthead. Teen memories of silliness are flooding back.

  5. Beautiful picture of the snow; hopefully it didn't damage too many trees! We got hit by the storm, too, and lost power for 6 1/2 hrs!
And as for the movies, I watched The Land Before Time so much growing up, so that's definitely my pick! :)

    1. With how heavy it was - I'm surprised we didn't see more damage, honestly! Over 6 hours with no power in COLD is NOT fun! Hope you didn't lose any appliances or food!

  6. Yikes, I hope that you guys didn't get too much more than that! We had heavy heavy rain and really strong winds. We lost power for a few hours last night actually. Food times haha. I know what you mean about the heavy snow. It looks all pretty and deceptive but then you try to dig out and it's so rough!

The Land Before Time is one of my favorite movies ever. I feel like I need to watch it again now! :)

  7. Big hands down! XD

Luckily the snow here didn't stick much. It's all gone already. But it was a pretty bad storm with the winds (and big ol' flakes) But our power ALMOST went out.

  8. From someone who comes from a place where we get no snow, your view looks beautiful and magical (probably does't feel like it to you though!). I love The Land Before Time... I think my children need to be introduced to it soon :)

  11. Oh goodness on the movies - The Land Before Time I guess, wow! And wow on having to dig your car out, that's crazy! No snow here, though it was easy to find a short drive into the mountains after last week's storms.
