Last weekend hubby and I took a drive over to Mentor, OH, and then on to Woodmere, OH, to visit Wholefoods Market...more on that trip to the store another time. Today I'm talking about the experience I had at MELT Bar & Grill!
I'll work a little backwards here and start with the food then move to the atmosphere!
First up...my main meal. YES...they have a slew of VEGAN options! Woot! I opted for the half sandwich which was a good thing because I couldn't have eaten any more! What you see here is called the PARMAGEDDON. This 'bad boy' had Potato & onion pierogis, fresh Napa vodka kraut, sautéed onions, vegan cheddar on their bread!
I started things off with these 'puppies'.
These are Buffalo Tofu Wings with Vegan Ranch. Believe it or not...my far-from-veg-husband actually tried them, too, and he REALLY liked them!
These were VERY memorable for both of us - especially because hubby already said he would have them again the next time we went back.
The vegetarian and vegan options were clearly marked on the menus. The menu's were on the back of old record sleeves.
This place was AWESOME and eclectic and eccentric and just about anything else you can think of. A wonderfully FUN place with lots of interesting food options.
Every couple of weeks they come up with some off-the-wall special feature such as a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Cowabunga Melt or the Glazed and Very Confused Donut Bacon Melt...not that either of those are vegan but you get the idea...
Either way...it gives me great ideas to try to veganize, eh!?
What do you think!? Here's their Instagram, too!
Wow, the sandwich and wings look absolutely amazing; yum! :D
ReplyDeleteThey were! So fun to eat there, too!
DeleteThat sandwich is seriously making me drool! I absolutely love pierogis, and never in a million years have I thought to put it on a sandwich!
ReplyDeleteThat is great news that your hubby will have those vegan wings again! Woot woot!
I never would have thought about it either! I am going to keep an eye on their features and see if I can do vegan versions or at least spark my own combo from their idea!
DeleteThat sandwich sounds awesome! Such an interesting and original place!
ReplyDeleteIt was a fun place that is for sure!!!!
DeletePierogis in a sandwich? This place sounds amazing!
ReplyDeleteI love that you can order a half sandwich as well.
I have to admit the Pierogies IN the sandwich is what intrigued me!
DeleteI love junky vegan food at restaurants. Sometimes they can melt daiya cheese at the perfect temperature!
ReplyDeleteYup! That is TOTALLY what they did here!!!! Woot!
DeleteIt's so handy when vegan options are marked when eating out. The meals looks delicious!
ReplyDeleteThis place looks insane! Wow. I'm not sure when I'll next find myself in Ohio, but I'll keep this in mind.
ReplyDeleteYour sandwich sounds good, very unique sounding. And those "puppies" look so good! I love that they have the menu on the back of record sleeves. I also love a good non-veg restaurant that has really good vegan options.
It sure is a memorable place!!! I sooo want to go back :)
DeletePirogi on a sandwich? That is bad A, that sandwich looks really good. Followed you from the Plant Based party.
ReplyDeleteI love trying various dishes at new and different restaurants. Thanks for sharing your MELT Bar & Grill Visit with us on the Plant-Based Potluck Party Link Up. I'm pinning and sharing.
