What is this large "blop" you might ask!? Well, it's the 'batter' for the Apple Cinnamon Raisin Flax Cookies I tried making a few days ago!
After mixing all of the following ingredients together in my Ninja I used a teaspoon to scoop them into small "cookies" and placed them on the sheets of my dehydrator. I put them in at about 115 to 120 for about 10 hours. I left them a little soft so you could probably put them in there for longer depending on what kind of texture you are looking for.
Here's the recipe I used...
2 C Flax Seeds - Ground
1 C Flax Seeds - Whole
2 C Water
1 Cup of Raisins (soaked in the 2 C Water mentioned above)
1 C Apple Sauce
1 T (or more) Cinnamon
1/2 Scoop Apple Flavored Perfect Food from Garden of Life
They are sweet, you can taste a good amount of apple, cinnamon, and crunch from the seeds, you can even see smaller lumps of raisins still in tact. Overall, I like these, but there are so many other ideas I have swimming thru my head for more dehydrated cookies I am sure I will post about in the future, too!
Ok so the blog does look unappealing, but the crackers themselves sound tasty!
ReplyDeleteWait till you see my "flat" cookies I made! LOL - I sooooo can't bake! LOL
DeleteOh these cookies look delicious!!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much! I'll be working on some more soon! Well, actually I attempted baking yesterday and will blog about that soon, too, but more dehydrated crackers and flavors this week, I think, too!
DeleteThese look great, very creative. I need to get my dehydrator out more, on my New Year's goal list! :-)
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see what you do with it! I'm thinking about another flavor of crackers for this week, too! Also still pondering a "candy bar" or "Breakfast bar"
