Sunday Snacks and a Little Bliss

My online Yoga and Vegetarian Friends (among others) that know my name ask if it's my REAL name.  Why...YES...Yes, it IS.  My REAL Married Last Name is...BLISS.  I like to play on words when I can and I was able to with this website "My BLISSful Journey".  So when I saw the company Bites of Bliss I knew I HAD to look into them!  After corresponding with Rhonda over at Bites of Bliss I knew she was a lively soul!  She's very nice!  She sent me a few samples to try and I randomly chose the Goji Berry to try first!

Here is a little bit from their website that sums up this Blissful Product!

Bites of Bliss® Superfood Bites are certified organic, certified gluten-free, certified kosher, raw, vegan, dairy-free, soy-free and have no agave or added sugars. Each flavor has its own unique quality and can be enjoyed in a variety of ways. Bites of Bliss® can be eaten in the morning for breakfast, before exercise to provide the body with energy, after exercise to replenish nutrients, as a meal replacement, or after a meal as a delicious dessert. They also make a great addition to kid's lunchboxes.
After REALLY looking over the website (which I LOVE by the way because of all the awesome info) I also found a bit more regarding the Goji Berry Flavor specifically...

Goji Berry
Rhonda knew she wanted a fruity flavor to balance out the other two flavors. Goji Berries are similar to a cross between a cranberry and a raisin. They start off tangy and then taste mildly sweet. She would usually take goji berries in a small baggie with her to the movies to munch on instead of popcorn so it was something that was already in her pantry. In considering taste and health benefits, goji berries were the first thing that came to mind. Because they are so high in antioxidants and Vitamin C, among many other nutrients, it seemed to be the perfect choice. Mixing in the white chia seeds creates a little crunch that balances out the creaminess……….it’s pure bliss!
I'm not going to lie...I'm totally excited about all of the nutritional value these "lil-guys" pack!  It's really amazing!

In addition I found the Dates and the Goji Berry Flavors EXPLODE in your mouth right away!  Right from the start!  It had a nice overall "Berry Bite".  The Walnuts, Chia Seeds, and Hemp Seeds give it a gently crunchy and crispy texture.  The lingering fruity-flavor is the most memorable part.  It's a pure delight, really!

I found these to be a nice healthy, quick snack to take the edge off while on the go or in the workplace!  Also a very nice afternoon pick me up.  If you are looking for a little something for your sweet tooth or for a dessert...these certainly fit the bill, too!

Fantastic!

In other news, TOMORROW, is the beginning of a new week...that means a new World Foods Theme!  This next week I will be doing Foods from Algeria!  I'm excited!!!!  I hope you will come back and check it out!

  3. I've used goji berries in smoothie recipes. A few years ago, I sold my father on incorporating more raw foods into his diet, so it's nice to have something else in common. He's 74 and still works out several times weekly.
