Colt Ford Opens For Jake Owen

Last Saturday we made a last minute decision to go to the Crawford County Fair to meet up with a booking agent that hubby works with for entertainment for our fair.  When we got there we got a tour of their (newer) facilities and were backstage during load in for Jake Owen with opener Colt Ford.  Right away I noticed TWO of these semi-trucks with Jake's tour graphics on them!  Of course I had to snap a pic - moreso because of the 'Love Bus' you see behind me.

I know I keep saying I'm not much of a country fan.  Sometimes I like certain songs but I can't really say I'm a huge fan overall.  It's just that these opportunities keep popping up and with everything we do with work and volunteering for our fair I'm surrounded by country music.  (In case you didn't know I'm in radio and one of our stations is a country station).  I really like seeing the functionality of everything behind the scenes.  I like the stage area, the light, the sound...I guess that goes back to my theatre days in high school. Not only was I in theatre but I was with the stage crew, too!
So anyways...this concert was Jake Owen with opener Colt Ford.  It was entertaining.  Colt Ford does like rap-country mix.  More on that in a bit.

We had Jake at our fair about 4 years ago and he's a super nice guy and has only grown since then.

When Colt opened for Jake he really got the crowd going but there was over 40 minutes in between him and Jake which was excessive.

As you can see in these pics and videos the stage shows were very different...hence the 40 minute down time.

Colt Ford covered Eminem's Lose Yourself from 8-Mile.  That was pretty cool.

This short clip shows the Beach Ball Party going on!  From a sponsor standpoint this was a great way to get the sponsors name out there which was Toyota.

And JUST before my phone died...I got this short clip of Jake's stage and light show!

Rooftop Garden Mini Video Tour

Rooftop Garden 2015!

I decided to do a 2 minute video from the Rooftop Garden!  This is just the beginning!  There are some Basil Plants, small Pepper Plants, various Leafy Greens, a squash plant that was from the actual squash that started a shoot so I planted it to see what happened.  It probably won't produce but it's fun to look at and it's going a little crazy!  Also in this video are 2 different kinds of chives, lavender, 3 different kinds of heirloom tomatoes, and Rhubarb!  Woot!  I plan on visiting one of the places where I got some starters today so I might be getting a new plant or two to add to the mix!  I will keep you posted!

Since I am new to YouTube I would really LOVE some new subscribers!  Please subscribe to my channel HERE.  Thanks so much!

Dave Coulier Later in the Week...

Later this week my sister and I are going to take a quick road trip to Erie to see Dave Coulier at Jr.'s Last Laugh.  I'm so excited!  He played JOEY in Full House.  My sister and I have watched every episode MANY TIMES in our younger years!  It's sure to be a fun time and kick back to our child hood seeing him do some stand up!  I can't wait!  I wonder if we will get to meet him...that would rock!

New Favorite Vegan Breakfast ~ Egg Trick Muffin

Over the weekend I was FINALLY able to try and make the Egg Trick Muffin that the Vegan Zombie posted on their YouTube Channel a while back.  The Egg Trick Muffin is one of the BEST Sellers over at Strong Hearts Cafe in Syracuse, NY...a vegan restaurant...that I hope to visit someday!  Since I didn't have any vegan meat alternatives and I was out of Daiya Cheese - I decided to top it with Salsa instead.  I had that straight-up on Sunday - then for breakfast this morning I added some Raw Vegan Pepperoni - which I will be blogging about later today - to it and took this photo.  It's so yummy!  And I am not a HUGE Tofu fan...generally speaking...but this is GREAT!  I will be making this often!  For the recipe and more info check out the video below.  I made a variation of the seasoning for the tofu patty using GoL's RAW Super Greens and I think I will add this seasoning to my collection of to-go spices and blends that I have created at home.  I followed the recipe in the video (and in the Vegan Zombie Cookbook) and added about a half teaspoon of this to the mix!  YUM!

Soaking & Sprouting Nuts & Seeds - More Specifically (This Time Around) Broccoli Sprouts & Shoots

Last night I was catching up on some of Dan McDonald's Videos and came across this one on how to soak nuts and seeds.  I have been doing this for a while but I still consider myself a novice at it.  I don't get overly involved with fancy equipment and I think that is completely fine.  I really appreciated the variety of the nuts and seeds he highlighted in this video.

This video is a great watch.  I will give you a heads-up that it is about 20 minutes long.  But it's totally worth it.  LOTS of great info, here!

My co-workers and I started soaking some Sunflower Seeds today and will try and start sprouting them tomorrow in hopes of Sunflower Shoots - also known as - Sunflower Micro Greens!  I will keep you posted on that project for sure!  At home...I started soaking Broccoli this morning.  I'm not sure if I am going to try for Broccoli Sprouts or Broccoli Shoots yet but they come from the same seed.  Above is a photo of the sprouts!  And below a photo of the Shoots.
There have been MANY studies on the benefits of Broccoli Sprouts including cancer fighting properties as well as changes in those with high cholesterol levels, high blood pressure, Macular Degeneration, COPD, Diabetes, etc.

Strong Knees - 7 Minutes to Save Your Knees

I've had knee problems since I was in middle school. I haven't had a knee replacement but know many people who have had them. A good online friend of mine Lynn mentioned today and I thought I would do a little research. Here is what I found...

There is a good article on the Yoga Journal Website HERE. The LiveStrong Website has an article that may be helpful too! Check that out HERE.

At the top of this post is an interesting video that I found. It's about 10 minutes in length. I'm also posting this as a bookmark to myself that I hope to revisit later. It combines various stretching, aerobics, and some yoga ideas.
