Eats, Chats, Books, & The Birds & The Bees!
Here's one of the more memorable thrown together meals I have had over the last few weeks! It's a cheaters meal but super yummy! I did boxed Daiya Mac & Cheese and added a package of frozen veggies and a little bit of almond milk then topped with sprinkles of nutmeg, smoked paprika, basil, etc.
This bread wasn't the best...not sure what kind it was but I highly doubt I will be getting it again. I remember what the package looks like so I will avoid it. What I have been craving for lately in the bread section is sprouted bread and I think I will have to make that happen soon!
With this attempt it was very creamy! The photo isn't that great but it was tasty!
Of course I threw some smoked paprika on top! YUM!
I'm not sure why but I have been finishing off a lot of meals with nutmeg and/or smoked paprika as of late.
A few weeks ago I took this photo on the fly on my iPhone...I can't remember a time that we have had bees and flowers this early in the year!
This past weekend it was near 70!!!! Woot!
I will say I like the strawberry better than the plain.
I really like these vegan offerings but don't have them often and I think that is a good thing...on several levels!
First up...Jason Wrobel! This book is HUGE!
Then a blogging buddy of ours...Zsu Dever's Book as you can see in the next photo! I can't wait to jump in!
She's my oldest online buddy...it's been YEARS since I first came across her blog (and it was a few blogs ago) and a few blogs ago of mine, too! It was great to talk to her over the phone...I bet it's been about 10 years or so since we 'met' online. We chatted about family, the weekend, gardening, community involvement, etc...can't wait to chat with her again soon! It was the highlight of my day! YAY!

All the eats sound great, especially the vegan mac and cheese! Hubby tried the So Delicious boxed stuff over the weekend and liked it. I have not tried the Daiya cheesecake yet, but tempted every time I see it at Whole Foods!ReplyDelete
I haven't seen the So Delicious brand near here! I will keep an eye out :)Delete
Glad everything went well with Paco's dental. And happy birthday as well. :)ReplyDelete
Thanks so much!!!!Delete
Everything looks delightful. I don't THINK I wished you a happy birthday, so... happy Belated birthday to you!ReplyDelete
I told my daughter, and Pete (when he called) that it was our first phone conversation. Yes, you are the blog pal I've known the longest. It was great chatting with you. I told them both your interest are very similar to my own. I already knew that and so thrilled to hear the plans that are being turned into a reality. It's satisfying when that happens. I look forward to chatting with you soon. Today is my daughter's last day of spring break and she told me she wants to "do something" today. Her "domething" is visiting her art teacher's store, which is about 45 minutes away. We can do that!
Thanks! Your daughter and Pete are both special people! I hope to meet (in person) all 3 of you some day! The Art Store trip sounds FUN!!!!Delete
Happy belated birthday! I'm so glad everything with Paco went well. Welcome back!ReplyDelete
Thanks so much! I need to catch up on everyone's blog SOON!!!!Delete
Yay for Paco and lots of yummy foods! Love the pic of the flowers & bees! Happy belated birthday! :DReplyDelete
Thanks! Hope you are well, too, and hope to catch up on your blog soon, too!Delete
Happy belated birthday! Sorry it's been a while since I read your blog; I've been really busy at work and literally too tired for blogging or even reading for a while. But getting back to it now and looking forward to catching up with your posts. I posted a tofu cheesecake not long ago, by the way...😉ReplyDelete
Hi there! Thanks so much! No worries! I am WAY behind, too! Work has certainly been the main reason :) What did you think of that vegan cheesecake when you tried it?Delete
Its been a while since I swung on over, I hope you fine I love the look of your Mac n Cheez. Zsu Vegan Bowls is on my wish list. I met her through Vegan Mofo and she was really genuine and warm to me. And a Happy Belated Birthday too.ReplyDelete
Hi there! Thanks for stopping by again! Zsu is AWESOME, isn't she!? So nice to have blogging buddies that are vegan cookbook people and vice versa!Delete
So glad to hear Paco is doing well =)ReplyDelete
I don't know if it's a cheater meal when you add some many awesome veggies. I have a box of that Daiya mac n' cheeze in my cupboard - I haven't tried it yet though. Your homemade version looks really good!
I like the Daiya Cheezecake! It's really good. But yes, rather sweet.
Happy Belated Birthday Jennifer! I hope you had a great one =)
Thanks for the belated birthday wishes!!! Let me know what you do with the box of vegan mac!!!!Delete
You had me at Daiya Cheesecake! Many years ago I used to be crazy about cheesecake and spent a lot of time making and eating cheesecake. I have not attempted to make vegan cheesecake yet but I am all set to try some Daiya Cheesecake now! So glad you shared it with us at the Plant-Based Potluck Party Link Up. I'm pinning and sharing.ReplyDelete
