This morning this started off as a smoothie but the more I thought about it I wanted it to be more of a Sorbet of sorts. I made a rather large batch and froze it. The texture was VERY thick and creamy! More importantly it was AWESOMELY Flavorful and I can see myself making this more often that is for sure!
I have a few Secret Ingredients in this as well! WHY!? Well, I added a little bit of the Super Orange Emergen-C like I did in my previous post trying to fight off potential sniffles! I THINK I have been successful! I believe I nipped it in the bud pretty early! I rarely get sick! It used to be that I got 4 head colds a year when I was a kid. When I turned 15 and went VEG I only got one every couple of years. For the past SEVERAL Years I haven't had ANY Head Colds at all! I didn't want to ruin my streak so I started pumping up on some foods I knew were helpful as well as a little extra Emergen-C. Here is the recipe for this Refreshing and Healthy Treat...
1 C Hemp Milk
1 C Mint Chocolate Coconut Milk
1/2 Frozen Banana
12-Ounce Package of Frozen Fruit including Strawberries, Blueberries, Blackberries, and Raspberries
1 Packet of Emergen-C Super Orange
1 Scoop of Garden Of Life's Yerba Mate Energizer Perfect Food
I will mostly snack on this in the evenings for a while. I might also use it in smoothies a scoop or two at a time! FUNNY...I used to hate being in the kitchen and was so 'challenged' when it came to cooking and such but I have been enjoying myself quite a bit the last year to year and a half since going Dairy-Free (Veg*n).

Co-Op Finds!
Companies toy with my emotions - especially over the holidays. You, see...I LOVE mint...ANY time of year. Chocolate and Mint are wonderful together, too! WHY must they only offer this during the holidays!? Oye! Eventho I wish they offered this 12 months out of the year I was very excited to see it at the Erie Whole Food Co-Op over the weekend. I actually sampled the Pumpkin Spice they had out and it was super tasty but when I saw they also had this one I decided to grab it instead. I'm not usually one to drink milk alternatives by the glass but for this flavor I will make the exception! YUM! Because I look into ingredients a lot I noticed this contains Monk Fruit. I do like a lot of the products I have tried from So Delicious so far!
Another thing I found at The Co-Op over this past weekend were Annie Chun's Seaweed Snacks. I've had these before but it's been a while...so I thought I would pick some up while I was there! I'm glad I did! I decided on the Brown Sugar, the Sesame, and the Wasabi. They are all marked Vegan! YAY! Seaweed in general is a very nutritious food!
Seaweed packs super-high amounts of calcium—higher than broccoli—and in terms of protein, it’s almost as rich as legumes. There’s a good amount of vitamins B-12 and A and it’s a great source of fiber. Seaweed is mostly soluble fiber, the kind that turns into a gel, slowing down the digestive process, thus inhibiting the absorption of sugars and cholesterol.
I eat Seaweed moderately because of my history of digestion issues. I don't want to eat too much of it in a short amount of time because I don't want my digestive system to be slowed down. Altho - that was more of a problem when I was eating dairy and not as much now that I eat a veg*n diet.
Another snack I found this weekend were these little 'sprites'. You know how I LOVE chickpeas! I couldn't resist! YES...I know I could make my own and I will probably start doing so as I want to get back into dehydrating very soon!
These are crunchy but not overly crunchy to bother my teeth. They are VERY flavorful, too! YUM! You know how when you buy a package of something and you open it - it looks like over half of the contents are already gone? Well, with this bag of Chickpeas that was NOT the case! There are MANY lovely little chickpeas in there and the contents are packaged fairly hearty! They are also packed with a good amount of Protein and Fiber, too! 1-ounce of these has 6 grams of protein! I have other new-to-me foods I will be posting in the near future, too, but I wanted to share these snacks with you right away!
