Weekend Roundup & Rooftop Garden Updates

A little bit of a "Weekend Round Up" as well as an update on the Rooftop Garden/Container Garden in this post!  This past weekend my mom, dad, sister, and I were with our Wildtree Products at Merritt Winery outside of Dunkirk, NY, for the 2nd time this year.  The weather started off not-so-great but it ended on a more pleasant note.  I was able to take a photograph of their vineyards before we left Sunday Night.

My sister and parents went on a little outing not too long ago and grabbed a drink or two at a Greek Restaurant and saved me this bottle.  WHY?  You might ask?  Well, because it has a Unicorn on it - of course!  If you don't already know - I've been a life long unicorn collector...I added this to my collection.  I posted this photo on InstaGram and noticed Mythos Beer is really popular overseas...I saw posts from Greece, Turkey, Italy, and other countries, too!  Pretty neat!  I made a spot for this empty bottle in my Craft Room.
Another thing I wanted to take time today - to update you all on - was some more Rooftop Garden/Container Garden updates!  On the right are two Dragons Tongue Bean plants BUT on the left is a container of Yard Long Beans that are crawling over and attaching themselves to the Dragons Tongue.  The Yard Long Beans are CRAZY HUGE!  They really can grow up to a YARD long!  Hence the name!  One of these days I will try and take a pic of me holding one so you can see just how long they really are!  They are so cool!
Here are some peppers we are having luck with now!  These are the Big Jim Peppers!  They are supposed to be mild to medium on the heat scale.  I think we will let them go a bit longer before picking because they can get to be between 7 and 10 inches long and I've read they also can turn red, too!  These are doing pretty well under our stairs in partial sun.

Questions of the Day...How was your weekend?  Do anything interesting?  How's your garden going and growing?  Any surprises there?  Have you tried Yardlong Beans or Big Jim Peppers?  What are your thoughts on those two produce picks?

Over The Weekend...

This past weekend my Mom, Dad, Sister, and I were in Forrestville, NY, at Merritt Winery for their Strawberry Festival.  We were vendors with our Wildtree Products.  This is our 2nd year doing this event and it's our BEST event by far - to date.  It was so much fun!  Saturday was a little cooler - weather wise - but the company and the music was FUN regardless!  Each year they choose a charity to support and this year it benefited the Carol M. Baldwin Foundation.  Carol was the mother of Alec, Daniel, and Billy Baldwin.  On Saturday Daniel Baldwin was there for the festivities.  He was VERY nice!  Here is a photo of my sister and I with him.  My sister told him he had very pretty eyes.  He seemed to be 'tickled' by the compliment.

There were a few good bands there throughout the weekend but the one that everyone really seemed to like was Hootn'Anges.

Here's a photo of my sister, my mom, and I with the band.  They played all sorts of music - not just country music.  They did a great take on "Me & My Bobby McGee" as well as "Cotton Eyed Joe" and "Love Is (What I Got).

I'm told they were recently signed by a label.  I also heard they will be back in the area for the Fall Fest.  They were a FUN band to watch!
Here's a photo of our set-up.  I have LOTS more to post in the coming days...including a wonderfully FUN announcement that I hinted at last week!  I'm so excited!  I will official announce that tomorrow, most likely!

How was your weekend?  How was the weather?  Did you do anything fun or out of the ordinary?

Another Wild Weekend! Strawberry Festival, Forrestville, NY, Merritt Winery

Yes!  I'm still catching up from the weekend!  This past weekend we were in Forrestville, NY, at Merritt Winery, for their Strawberry Festival!  It was VERY Fun!  We were a vendor with our Wildtree stuff there!  Saturday was gloomy, tho, but we still did very well sales-wise!  So well, in fact, that we had to beg our up-line to spot us some product for Sunday!  Because we have such an awesome team leader she did help us out BIG TIME!

You can click on these photos to enlarge them!  Here are a few of our display but also of the other vendors, too!  We were in between a fellow vendor friend ours GlassWerks out of Lakewood, NY.  We've done many shows together.  On the other side of them was another friend Recycled Peaces who sells Tye-Dye items and he's from Onoville, NY.  There were 2 other vendors who were from the Warren, PA, area that we have done a few shows with, too!

Behind us was a nice large covered picnic pavilion area that the Winery had which also included a kitchen.  It was outdoors but still covered and secure.  They had a Beer and Wine Stand outside where you could buy by the glass or bottle.  They were serving chocolate covered strawberries and strawberry short cake.  I was tempted to get just the strawberry topping of the shortcake but didn't we were too busy to take a break.  My mom and sister got me some hummus and it was in our cooler all weekend.  I think there were 6 different kinds so I literally ate Hummus all weekend!  There were some veggies and crackers as well for dipping!  I keep saying I want to make some of our dips with Vegan Equivalents and I have at home for myself but always forget to bring them with me while we work!

I can't believe how much we sold!  We brought VERY LITTLE home with us!  One of our newest best sellers is the Happenin' Hot Pepper Jelly!  We sold 52 jars of it!  And it's VEGAN.  I LOVE that Wildtree's Jams and Jelly's do NOT have Gelatin(e) in them!
There were MANY Bands throughout the weekend, a Classic Car Show, and many Motorcycle Groups stopped by!  Former Boxer and Politician Baby Joe Mesi was there and this years funds raised went to his Anti-Bullying Campaign.

It was a real fun event!  We plan on attending each year as a vendor from now on!  We've been there in the past - just for fun - and they have various charities they raise funds for - in the past we've been there for the Buffalo Sabres Alumni Foundation Charities.
