It's been another rough week but I'm choosing not to focus on that. What I have been pretty excited about and thankful for are some of the FINDS I located at Wegman's over the weekend.
This post is part of a weekly link-up called MidWeek Munchies! As long as it's vegan and it's a munchie of some sort it belongs on our link-up! Won't you join us? If it's a munchie you made or products you located let us know about them! Link-up below!
Here's what I grabbed so far this week! Mini Gnocchi, Tostones - which are frozen mashed plantains you can bake or fry, some Ghost Pepper based Salsa I grabbed for a co-worker's hubby, Seaweed snacks, Daiya Moz Shreds, Daiya Cheddar - block in new packaging, 4 small Tomatillos, 6 Large Red Bell Peppers, and Marmite - which I didn't even know I could get in the US. I've heard from a few UK Friends about Marmite and Vegemite...so that's pretty cool that I was able to find some here. I found this and a few of these other items in the International Foods row - including these Plantain Chips that you see here. It's funny...I'm NOT a fan of bananas but plantains are A O K especially if they are dried with a bit of garlic and sea salt. YUM! I'm looking forward to trying the Tostones and I'm looking into some vegan sauces to create for the mini gnocchi.
It's YOUR turn! Tell us about your MWM - MidWeek Munchies! Link-up Below!
Those tostones look good! I tried vegemite when I went to Australia like 10 years ago and didn't like it but my taste buds have changed since going vegan so I wonder how it would taste to me now. I'll have to try some soon!
ReplyDeleteFrom what I heard - a little bit goes a long way! I haven't cracked open the lil jar yet :)
DeleteCan't wait to hear about the tostones. I've never had them. I love a little bit of marmite on toast, and also in soups.
ReplyDeleteI've never had them either :) The only ingredients in them are Plantains and Soybean Oil!
DeleteEverything looks great, especially the Tostones. And I'm a fan on Plantains too, the chips sound great. I hope your week gets better!
ReplyDeleteThe Tostones needed a little something...I'm thinking garlic and/or a sauce???
DeleteHope you're ok. Sending a hug. You've got some interesting stuff in your haul and yay for marmite. I like to use a teaspoon in french onion soup with just a thinly sliced onion, stock and a teaspoon of mixed dried herbs. Cheap and delicious with a slice of grilled cheese on toast to dip in.
ReplyDeleteThanks! I appreciate the virtual hugs! I will have to try Marmite in soups! Thanks for the suggestion!
DeleteWish you a nice and relaxing week-end. With good food and good friends.
ReplyDeleteAwwww! Thanks so much! I appreciate the wishes :)
DeleteWoah! What a haul =) I really hope you are having a better week this week.
ReplyDeleteI like bananas and plantains, and think the plantain chips are the bomb.
Let us know what you think of the vegemite!
Thanks! This week's haul is a little random but I will be posting it soon! LOL
